Boat Hoist Plans

I'm looking for a set of plans to build a boat lift for the viper. cable style is fine, i want to build it as light as possible as it will have to be handled by hand on land. also, detailed pictures would be a great help. i need about 1000-1500 pounds capacity. i have all welding and steelwork equipment.. A quick trip to lowe's and a little elbow grease, and you've got yourself a homemade boat lift. the most simple designs are often the best. when you don't need a heavy-duty hydraulic lift, or just don't want to fool with electronics and motors to get your craft out of the water, a boat lift is a great way to go.. Re: plans for building a cantilever boat lift - any ideas? just keep in mind feet and pounds, ft-lbs. one pound of weight one foot away from the center of a cantilever exerts 1 ft-lb of force on the arm, 10 ft away is 10#, 20 ft is 20# or 10# 1 foot away is 10#, or 20# 1 ft away is 20#..
